Beaufette or Buffet in Milton House

Scan of photo from the book William Cole of Milton showing the east side of Milton House. The author writes that:
“On Maundy Thursday [1770] Coles notes that Tom [Cole’s man-of-all-work] was at work on the “Beaufette” in the kitchen. This kind of cupboard, which was usually seen in the parlour of farmhouses, is still in the kitchen of Milton House.

Taken by an unknown photographer in about 1935.

In 1935 the author of the book noted:
“The small window on the ground floor has been turned into a glazed door and the lean-to at the left end has been covered by additions to that end. Otherwise the details are as at present.
