This photo, clearly taken from the top of the tower of All Saints’ clearly show the two surviving thatched cottages in Church Lane (although Lilac Cottage is now rather larger) and, in the foreground, the one which was pulled down before 4 and 6 Church Lane were be built there in 1963.
You can also see the Jolly Brewers, with a large annexe at the north end which is no longer there in that form, Queen Anne Lodge, and the forge at the junction of Fen Road and the high street.
