Milton Country Park has recently refreshed it’s permanent orienteering map. Orienteering is a sport where you navigate your way around a series of checkpoints in the fastest time, however Milton Country Park has a permanent course which you can navigate to at any time and at your own pace. You can now download local maps via West Anglian Orienteering Club’s website here.
“Permanent orienteering courses allow you to discover new areas of parks or forests that are a little bit more off the beaten
track, and further from other members of the public,” says Stephen Borrill from West Anglian Orienteering Club. “They’re ideal for family groups or individuals, so perfect for social distancing. It’s a chance to learn something new, connect with the outdoors, get some exercise and have the satisfaction of completing a challenge.”
The Orienteering Foundation have also released a new video that explains how to get started on a permanent orienteering course that might be worth watching before heading out to the country park.
