A petition has been created by Milton locals to contest the location of the chosen potential sites for the Cambridge Waste Water Treatment Plant run by Anglian Water. Two of the three potential sites (Site 1 and Site 2) are situated close to Milton’s Park and Ride. Site 3 is located closer to Fen Ditton and Horningsea. Many residents may be familiar with the unpleasant smell that occasionally makes its way over from the current wastewater treatment plant on Cowley Road to the village and the creators of the petition are concerned that the new site locations will further increase the unpleasant smell.

The petition calls for Site 1 and Site 2 in particular to no longer be considered and demands further site consultation by Anglian Water to relocate the wastewater treatment plant further away from residential areas.

The Anglian Water site consultation period ends on the 19th August, when creators of the petition plan to send the results to the company and to local MP Lucy Frazer. You can find the petition here.
