Landlord George Betson said: “Although we have a great selection of beers and ciders to pick from there is one I would like to make a special mention of: Elgoods ‘Coolship’ This beer is unique in its methods of production using a traditional open air vat and spontaneous fermentation. Elgood’s Coolship Sour Ale is brewed using traditional methods & original brewing equipment. Spontaneous fermentation is initiated on our unique double coolships. A long period of fermentation and maturation in special tanks enables naturally occurring wild yeasts combined with oak, to create its sharp fruity flavour. A true sour English Ale. This is the traditional methods they use in Belgium to create lambics.
“This is our second annual festival and we can not wait to open the doors and kick start another cracking weekend and warm up session before the Cambridge Beer Festival the following week!”
