The recent fire at the Butt Lane landfill site is now out. Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service announced: “The fire at a landfill site on Butt Lane, Milton is now extinguished. Our firefighters have checked the area for hot spots using a thermal imaging camera and will be leaving the scene today [Thursday]. Butt Lane is now open to traffic. Firefighters will continue to visit the site periodically over the next 48 hours to check the area. Residents in the immediate area can now reopen their doors and windows to ventilate their properties.”

As well as thanks to the Fire and Rescue Service for all their work, thanks must go to Rectory Farm for allowing the Fire and Rescue Service to use their water stores.
