Milton resident, Parish Council chair and former County Councillor Jane Costing has been awarded the British Empire Medal in the New Year’s Honours List. Jane has been awarded the medal “for services to the
community in Milton, Cambridgeshire”.

For those of you unaware of Jane’s contribution to Milton life she has worked tirelessly in and for the community over the last 40 years, starting with playgroups and ending up serving multiple terms as our County Councillor as well as being a stalwart of the parish council and running the village newsletter for many years. The bridge over the A14 is called the Jane Costing Bridge in recognition of Jane’s work campaigning over 20 years to get it installed. Jane has accomplished far more than we can list here but Milton News would like to say a heartfelt congratulations on a well deserved award.
