The Cygnets Milton Pre-School is seeking a new Committee Chair.

“In October, after serving 3 years on the committee, our current Committee Chair will be stepping down, and we urgently need to find a replacement. The sooner we can find a volunteer committee member (trustee) to work with our current chair, the better equipped we will be to ensure continued smooth operation and an adequate handover period.

“Whilst the pre-school manager is in charge of the day to day running of Cygnets, the charity trustees are in charge of running the charity, making decisions regarding its management in order to achieve its aims. The trustees are jointly responsible for both the effective running of the charity and in acting as the registered person for Ofsted, thus have a range of roles and responsibilities. The Chair has overall management responsibility of the committee, is the nominated person for Ofsted, and chairs the regular evening meetings.

“The support you can provide as a charity trustee is extremely important to us and we value the contribution of your time and skills, as they are an essential ingredient to our success. Volunteering as a charity trustee is a responsibility and commitment, but it is also about community spirit, making friends, gaining new skills and really making a difference.

“If you are planning to send your child to Cygnets in September, your help is especially important, as without someone to fill this vital role the pre-school cannot open.”
