LNER B1 class 4-6-0 No. 61306 “Mayflower” is back again this Saturday (10/10) hauling The Cathedrals Express from Warminster to Cambridge and Ely and we should be getting to see it twice, and in the day time both times too.
“Mayflower” at Milton level crossing
According to UKSteam Info it departs Cambridge at 13:22 and arrives at Ely at 13:43 (and it’s not stopping to take on water) so it’s going to cross Fen Road level crossing somewhere around 13:25 from the look of it. On the return leg it arrives Ely at 17:07 and Cambridge at 17:30 so it should pass Fen Road level crossing a second time at around 17:25.
This won’t be the last steam hauled train this year, we’re expect 46233 “Duchess of Sutherland” (which we think will be the first time that’s been our way), hauling The Christmas White Rose from Cambridge to York and back on 17th December and there may be others.
