As we’ve reported here previously Cambridgeshire County Council is proposing to save £171,000 from their budget by cutting school crossing patrols all across the county.

Parents and councillors in Milton were informed by letter in December 2015. The county council have offered two alternatives, both of which require local funding or local management of the service.

Ivana Devine, a Mum of two from Ely, has started a petition to protest against the loss of the school crossing patrol. If you wish to sign it you can do so at

Milton Parish Council will be discussing the at their next meeting on Monday 11 January 2015, which starts at 7:30. Villagers are welcome to attend and express your views.
