Your parish council meets this Monday night (2/2) at the Bowls Pavilion starting at 7:30pm. The agenda (Adobe/PDF, 273KB) can be found on their web site.
Council will be considering the following planning applications in Milton village.
- s/0411/14/fl – 26 Butt Lane, Milton – Erection of six dwellings
- s/2982/14/fl – The College of West Anglia, Milton – Retention of Dog Kennels.
- s/2983/14/fl – The College of West Anglia, Milton – Retention of Menage.
- s/0157/15/fl – Unit 115 Norman Industrial Estate, Cambridge Road, Milton – Change of use from B2 (General Industry) to B2 (General Industry) and A5 (Hot Food Take-Away).
Two of these are worthy of comment:
- the first proposes to pack six new dwellings into a site which is larger than one might think looking at it from Butt Lane but the most obvious down side is that it is very close to Milton Primary School – the entrance would be less than 100 feet from the Butt Lane entrance to the school.
- the last is to set up a kitchen to cook food for a home delivery service from Unit 115 on Norman Industrial Estate from 5pm to 11pm Tuesday to Sunday. Residents living close by may want to be reassured on the potential for odours and vehicle movements.
Other items on the agenda include considering the appointment of John Saunders as a parish councillor, making a response to the Cambridge Northern Fringe East Area Action Plan, ongoing issues relating to North Lodge and the pavilion.
The main item on the agenda is to agree the budget for 2015-16. Milton Football Club, are requesting a grant of £15,000 to improve the pavilion on Sycamores Recreation Ground. A precept of £129,000 is being recommended to council by the Finance committee (which will result in a small reduction in Band D tax compared to last year).
