Manchester United FC are coming to Cambridge this Friday (23/1) to play Cambridge United FC at the Abbey Stadium at 7:55pm in the fourth round of the FA Cup. That’s probably going to make things “interesting” if you’re trying to get into Cambridge on Friday evening.
Meanwhile here in the village the local pubs have all made plans:
Jolly Brewers
Will be showing the match on the two screens in the public bar with free food provided at half time.
For those that do not want to watch the match and prefer a quieter drink you can use the newly refurbished lounge bar in the restaurant side.
Lion and Lamb
Are offering both an amber and a red “stand” for viewing the match with pre and post match offers on food and drinks. The outside TV will also be on for those that might want to have a smoke whilst watching the match. Children are welcome with parents.
They will also be offering a football free zone for diners and drinkers alike in their restaurant area.
White Horse
Will be having TV on for football in the public bar and also behind the fireplace in the lounge bar for watchers of the quieter nature. Most of their regulars apparently have tickets for the match so they’re not be expecting many in.
The family room and lounge will be TV free. Food will be served as usual but bookings would be advisable.
