More Ticket Machines at the P&R

Extra ticket machines are due to be installed at Cambridge’s Park and Ride sites to make it quicker and easier for the millions of customers using the sites each year. Since parking charges were introduced there have been queues to use the machines at busy times, so the Council have ordered more machines, which are now being installed.

The improvements are part of a number of initiatives by Cambridgeshire County Council to make it easier for people to pay for their parking and catch a bus at the Park and Ride. Thousands of people are going online to www.cambridgeparkandride.com to pay for their parking at the sites, where a number of options are available from discounted annual seasons to pay as you go for occasional users.

Now eight extra machines are being put in at the five Cambridge sites and a new video explaining how to use them is also available online. The parking system is ticket free, all drivers need to do is enter their registration number in the machine.

They have also produced this video to help people understand how it all works (be warned it starts with a man speaking really quietly but don’t be tempted to turn the volume up as it suddenly gets very loud later):
