SCDC Funding Community Projects

Projects by eight community groups have shared almost £14,000 of funding from South Cambridgeshire District Council to help them continue their valuable work … but not ones in Milton.

The money will support initiatives from the purchase of outdoor play equipment for Eltisley Park and improving facilities at Comberton Tennis Club, to the re-carpeting of Cottenham United Sports and Social Club and the installation of new kitchen and toilet facilities at St Mary’s Church in Guilden Morden.

The grants were awarded from South Cambridgeshire District Council’s Community Chest grant fund – a pot of money available to voluntary and community sector groups and parish councils. The grants of up to £1,500 cover one-off costs relating to a project or activity.

Cllr Ray Manning, Leader of South Cambridgeshire District Council, said:

We are very pleased to be able to provide these community groups with the vital financial support they need to continue their valuable work serving and supporting our local communities.

Our Community Chest grant funding is an excellent way for groups to make improvements to their equipment or buildings and they are always welcome to get in touch with us and see how we may be able to help.
