Cambridgeshire County Council, which is still desperately trying to cut costs, is carrying out a consultation to inform its future household recycling service which will run for a six week period. This consultation is seeking views on a number of different options to help contribute to the £149 million savings required by the council over the next five years.
Essentially what they are doing is reviewing the nine household recycling centres they currently have around the county, including the one in Butt Lane, Milton and looking at options including closing some, reducing opening hours or restricting access for “trade” vehicles (which could include anyone with a trailer or anything other than a car from the sound of it).
For details visit the consultation page on the council web site and, if you want, you can fill in their online questionnaire.
The consultation closes on Friday, 26th September.
