Open Farm Sunday takes place at the farm college aka “the Cambridge campus of the College of West Anglia” this Sunday (8/6) from 10am to 3pm. Visitors, young and old alike, have a wide variety of free things to see and do at the campus and the adjoining farm.
There will be numerous animals and creatures to see, large and small, demonstrations, competitions and opportunities to have a go at some of the events.
Making the big time this year will be the first appearances of three newly-acquired llamas, adding to the attraction of the alpacas down on the farm, many different animals, pedigree pig display ring and pig obstacle course.
The equine area has plenty of things to see and do. There will be demonstrations in the Equine Therapy Centre; biomechanics demonstration; vaulting (gymnastics on horseback) demonstration; show jumping in the outdoor school; having a go at grooming; painted horses; interactive quiz; having a go on dressage/racing simulator; guess the weight of the pony; number of pony nuts in a jar and a drawing competition.
