On 4th January we reported that the Green Dragon bridge in Chesterton, which is used by many villagers as a foot and cycle route into the east end of Cambridge, would be closed for the next ten weeks or so while contractors grit blasted the metal structure and repaired the ironwork before the bridge is repainted with a specialist, long lasting paint finish.
The bridge was scheduled to reopen next Sunday but we heard today via Cambridge News that the county council has said it is now not expected to reopen until the end of the month.
