As you will know if you’re a milton-chat subscriber the mud left by Pretoria Energy after they harvested their bio-fuel maize on Sunday (rather later than originally planned) has been the cause of quite a lot of comment.
Paul Oldham met with Linda Kirby, Agriculture Director at the farm college, on site on Tuesday and afterwards she posted to the list:
I apologise on behalf of the college for any disruption caused by the mud on the road from Pretoria Energy Company. We are unfortunately unable to use the college road sweeper to improve the state of the road as it is being repaired. As soon as the repairs have been completed we will send a team out to sweep the road.
On Wednesday our PCSO, John Mason, told the parish council that:
I have been informed that Pretoria have attended and cleaned up the road. I understand that some residents may have been concerned that it may not have been sufficiently clean, but we have had a traffic vehicle attend to assess the situation and they are happy with the condition of the road.
However reports from various users suggest there’s still a lot of mud down there. Unfortunately an area of high pressure has meant we have had no rain this week but Friday’s forecast is for showery rain, some heavy, during the morning with more showery rain later in the day and more to follow on Saturday night and into Sunday and Monday so hopefully that will help wash a lot of it away at last.
