Grant Grabber Service

A new “grant grabber” search facility has been launched to help communities across South Cambridgeshire gain easier access to funding for projects. The new self-serve search facility on South Cambridgeshire District Council‘s website allows voluntary organisations, community groups or parish councils to access thousands of pounds of funding from the Council and beyond.

The facility also allows groups to set up automatic alerts so they know when relevant new or updated funds are added, as well as sign up to a weekly newsletter packed with the latest local, national and European funding announcements.

So far this year £16,000 of grant funding has been awarded though the Council’s community chest scheme. Up to £1,000 can be secured for initiatives that improve village life.

For example a recent project to improve Dry Drayton Village Hall was also supported by the Council and £15,000 was secured in grant funding from WREN. Details of WREN can be found on the grant grabber search facility.

Cllr Ray Manning, Leader of South Cambridgeshire District Council, said:

We believe the new search facility will provide communities with a much easier way of exploring all the potential avenues available for them to secure funding. Whether you are a local parish council, a voluntary group or a sports team please take a look and see how you could fund your next project or purchase.

Milton has not got a particularly good record of exploiting these sort of grants, so if you are involved with an activity in the village which needs funding then this is the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
