Tornado Comes to Milton Again

The 2008 built LNER Peppercorn A1 Pacific No. 60163 “Tornado” is coming to Milton this Friday (21/6) hauling the “Cathedrals Express” from Tonbridge to Ely and back.

The timetable currently says that having taken on water it will leave Coldhams Lane at 13:30 and arrive at Ely at 13:42 so “Tornado” should pass Milton just after 13:30.

It will return at 17:46, arriving at Cambridge at 10:04 so it should pass Milton at about 18:00. These times are only provisional so should be treated with suspicion at the moment but visiting the timetable again on Friday should give you more reliable information.

We are also expecting another visit next Tuesday (25/6), another “Cathedrals Express”, this time from Rainham to Ely and back but there seems to be some doubt at the moment as to whether that will be hauled by “Tornado” or by SR West Country class Light Pacific No 34046 “Braunton”. We have no times for that yet but we’ll post something here when we have.
