Everyone over the age of 50 is welcome, regardless of ability, to attend Forever Active’s ‘Get Active in the Park’ on Thursday (20/6) from 2-8pm in Milton Country Park aimed to introduce the over 50s, and those returning to a more active lifestyle, to new activities.
The event, organised jointly by South Cambridgeshire District Council, Cambridge City Council and Cambridge Sport Lakes, builds on the success of last year’s Forever Active Sports Day and aims to raise awareness of the substantial health benefits of continued physical, social and mental activity.
Activities have been designed to suit all tastes, abilities and energy levels, from taster classes in T’ai Chi, Yoga, Pilates and dance to a led cycle ride, Nordic walking, fishing, archery, fencing, golf and even water sports for the more adventurous, including canoeing and paddle boarding.
Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a well deserved break into the evening with a barbecue and music.
It is free to attend, but there is a £2 car parking fee at the Country Park. Visitors can turn up and register at any point throughout the day, but if you would like to receive a full programme of activities (Also available for download here (Adobe/PDF, 16KB).) and register your attendance in advance contact Kirsty Human on (01954) 713297 or email kirsty.human@scambs.gov.uk
