November’s parish council agreed to co-opt Gail Wynne-Jones as a new councillor. Gail, who is retired, has lived in Milton for eight years and is interested in the planning and management of the open spaces in the village.
Meanwhile Terrie Drummond has resigned from the council which creates a new vacancy so the council has just posted a formal notification of a casual vacancy. Assuming that there isn’t a call by ten electors for a by-election (and there hasn’t been one of those since 1997) the council will again be looking to co-opt so if you are interested in becoming a councillor you might want to read the council’s page on How To Become a Parish Councillor.
Finally we should mention that November’s parish council meeting agenda also noted that Mark Ellwood has given notice he will stand down from council at the next AGM so it looks like there will be another post to be filled early next summer.
