Anglian Water is planning to replace an existing sewer rising main from Milton Church Lane pumping station (whose access is actually in Ely Road at the north end of the high street) to the Cambridge Sewage Treatment Works. The work is proposed to start from this Monday (29/10) at to last for about sixteen weeks. During the work the high street will be subjected to lane closures and traffic lights. (Yes, these are the works which were originally planned to be starting on 10th September for completion before Christmas.)
