Come along and celebrate the build up to the 2012 Paralympic Games by welcoming the Paralympic flame to Milton Country Park on Saturday (25/8). The Paralympic Flame Celebration will take place at the Park from 11am to 3pm, with the Paralympic Lantern arriving across the lake at 1pm.
Free activities for people with a disability, and their family members, will be on offer from 11am onwards, including canoeing, archery, a wheelchair accessible climbing wall, fishing, disc golf, boccia, adaptive bikes and craft sessions.
Four Paralympic flames will be travelling across the country to Stoke Mandeville – the home of the Paralympic Movement – to be combined at a special ceremony ahead of a 24-hour torch relay to the Olympic Park in London.
You can register in advance for activities to save time on the day. Download a form from www.scambs.gov.uk/London2012 or call Tim Herod on 01954 713297.
The Paralympic Flame Celebration is a partnership between South Cambridgeshire District Council, Cambridge Sport Lakes, Inspire and You Can Bike Too.
