There are reports from Histon and Impington of solar PV sales people (men and women) saying they can install PV on your roof by the 12th December deadline imposed by Government last week. They are going door-door asking for deposits on the spot. No doubt they will be in Milton soon, if they’re not already. Our advice is not give them any money and to consider reporting their activity to the police.

According to two different suppliers who post on the Histon and Impington mailing list virtually all of the legitimate companies who install PV have their books filled and cannot take on additional work. Part of the problem is the supply of PV panels and inverters has nearly dried up. If you give one of these door-door sales people some money you will likely not receive the promised panels in time, if at all, and so won’t get the Government’s current and very generous tariff on your installation.
