Walkling Way was cordoned off on Monday after a man had claimed he had a bomb in his oven. Officers visited the address and then called in the bomb disposal team from RAF Wittering.

The team deployed their robot to examine the scene. The incident caused some disruption to villagers who were evacuated from their flats or were unable to get their cars out which were inside the zone cordoned off.

The incident was over by about 4:30pm and a 23 year old man was arrested on suspicion of making an explosive device to commit a criminal offence.
