This May we have elections for both parish and district council in Milton. At least one parish councillor has already announced that he won’t be standing again this May and there may well be others as with a fifteen member council there’s always some turnover every four years. So would you be interested in standing?
The parish council has already leafleted some parts of the village and we have that leaflet online if you missed it. It explains all about what the parish council does and how you can get involved.
It’s perhaps worth mentioning as we know it puts some people off that the chances of you actually having to be voted in are small. We’ve not had a contested parish council election in a very long time. Normally the problem is making sure we can get fifteen people willing to stand, and if by chance we get more one will usually withdraw so there won’t be an election.
