On Thursday the “The Armistice Day Special” passed Milton hauled by the 2008 built LNER Peppercorn A1 Pacific No. 60163 “Tornado” – the first time it’s been up our line since it was built.

A hardy group of enthusiasts turned out despite the fairly dreadful weather (not quite a tornado but it was blowing a gale!) and some including Elizabeth Oldham, whose photo you can see on the right, took photos.
