Starting on Monday (11/10), part of St Andrew’s Street in Cambridge city centre will be closed for emergency sewer repair works and some bus stops will be closed as a result. This will affect the Milton Park & Ride service in both directions and the Citi 2 service coming going into Cambridge (but not the service coming out).
For the Citi 2 coming into town stop E3 on Emmanuel Street will be closed. Passengers are advised to either alight at stop H in Bridge Street or stop S at the Midsummer Common end of Jesus Lane depending on which part of the centre they’re heading for.
Curiously, although the works are in St Andrew’s Street, the usual stop (S2) outside the magistrates court remains open for your return trip to Milton.
Meanwhile the Park & Ride service is also disrupted. Going into town the stop on Emmanuel Street E5 is closed. The suggested alternatives are stop O in Victoria Avenue (which implies a change of route) or bay C at The Grafton.
On your return trip stop D2 near the Drummer Street bus station is closed as is bay A at The Grafton so your only option is stop V in Short Street next to Christ’s Pieces (which again implies that they are varying the route).
The 9/X9 services to and from Milton are not affected.
You can more information about these arrangements here on the Stagecoach Cambus web site including a link to a map (Adobe/PDF, 216KB) with all the stops marked along with a summary of this information.
The County Council expect the road to remain closed until 31st October.
