Milton Produce Show – Volunteers Wanted

Following the success of last year’s event, we are now planning the Milton
Produce Show 2010!

The show will be held as part of the Food, Farming and Countryside Event at Milton Country Park on 12th September. Like last year, there will be prizes for all the usual categories of vegetables, fruit, flowers and plants, home produce, creative food, handicrafts and photography, as well as categories for children and young people.

2010 has been declared the International Year of Biodiversity by the UN. Biodiversity means the wonderful variety of the natural world. To mark the occasion, we will be adding some new categories to the Produce Show including heritage fruit and vegetables and wildlife gardening. More details to follow!

Want to get involved with organising the show? We would love some help:

  • designing, printing and displaying posters.
  • spreading the word: if you’re a member of a local club or society that
might be interested in the show it would be great if you could tell them
about it. We can give you posters and entry forms nearer the time.

  • behind the scenes: counting entries, making labels, preparing score
    sheets…

  • on the day: setting up the room, greeting entrants and giving them their
labels, watching over the exhibits during the public viewing session…

If you can offer any help, we’d be delighted to hear from you. Email us
at produceshow@milton.org.uk or leave a message with the Milton Country
Park rangers on 420060.

For more information about the show, contact as as above or see
or web page. We look forward to seeing you on the 12th September!
