Milton surgery will be vaccinating high risk patients against Swine Flu in the week beginning Monday, 16th November.
The first group of patients to be vaccinated are those 64 years or younger who usually have the seasonal flu vaccination because they have a chronic illness and pregnant women. If you are in this group please phone the surgery, ideally after 10am, on 420511 and book an appointment.
Clinic Times:
- Monday 16th November 7am – 12noon and 2pm – 7pm (this will be the main vaccination day and the surgery is extending their hours of opening to try to be available to commuters)
- Tuesday 17th November 8:15am – 11:15am
- Friday 20th November 9:30am – 11:30am
The vaccine has a limited life after each multi-dose vial is mixed so the surgery need to vaccinate patients in set clinics to avoid wasting it. Therefore you will need to book an appointment in one of these clinics to obtain your vaccination.
All patients who need to be vaccinated will receive a letter inviting them but these may be delayed by the postal strike and so the surgery would be grateful if you would spread this message widely so that patients in the high risk group can phone for an appointment.
If you would like more information about the vaccine we have the Swine Flu Information Sheet and the Patient Information Leaflet for the vaccine available for you to read online.
