The October meeting of Milton Photographic Club will take place on Wednesday (21/10) at 7:45pm in the church hall. The topic for the evening will be Milton! Those of you who were around almost ten years ago will remember The Milton Millennium Book, a daily photographic record of life in Milton in 2000, put together by a team of photographers and others, including some current members of the club.
Some members of the club thought it would be a good idea not to wait for the next Millennium. They would like to maintain the photographic record of the village, and record the changes going on around us. Jane Coston from the Parish Council, who was involved in the Milton 2000 project, will be coming along to help discuss how they might do this.
To get people thinking they will be showing some photographs of Milton taken over the years and also some examples of changes that have been recorded in other villages by taking a picture from the same spot every year. If you would also like to bring along some images showing how the village has changed, please feel free to do so.
The meeting will also be able to discuss their response to the parish council and the village websites’ requests for photographs to be published on their websites.
In addition the committee will report back on the draft programme for 2009-10.
