There will be some major resurfacing works on the A14 over the next month or so between Fen Ditton (J34) and Nine Mile Hill (J36, where the A11 and the A14 merge east of Cambridge).

There will also be some additional bridge repair work and earthworks between the Girton interchange (J31) and Fen Ditton. The works are scheduled to start on the evening of Monday 7th Sept and are expected to be completed by the morning of Saturday 10th October.

Working hours will be between 8pm-6am Monday to Wednesday nights; 8pm-7am Thursday nights; 9pm-6am Friday nights; 7pm-9am Saturday nights; 8pm-6am Sunday nights.

The works will be carried out in two phases:

• Phase 1: Works will take place on the westbound carriageway between Monday 7th Sept and Wednesday 23rd Sept. During the hours of work it will be necessary to implement complete westbound carriageway closures at Nine Mile Hill (J36) and between Stow cum Quy (J35) and Milton (J33). There will be occasional Lane 2 closures on the eastbound carriageway.

• Phase 2: Works will take place on the eastbound carriageway between Thursday 24th Sept and Saturday 10th Oct. During the hours of work it will be necessary to implement complete eastbound carriageway closures between the A428 Madingley Interchange and A14 Girton interchange (J31), and between Milton (J33) and Nine Mile Hill (J36).

  On 5th and 6th Oct only there will also be a complete eastbound carriageway closure between the Girton interchange (J31) and Milton (J33). There will be occasional Lane 2 closures on the westbound carriageway.

So in summary then: from 7th to 23rd September going west toward Milton via the A14 is likely to be impossible from mid-evening onwards and from 24th September to 10th October a similar situation is likely going east towards Milton and also leaving Milton heading east.
