Guided Walk on the Archaeology of Landbeach

Just outside the village Cambridgeshire Archaeology and the County Council Farms Estate will be holding a free guided walk around historic Landbeach on Wednesday (22/4) starting at 7pm.

Landbeach has a rich heritage stretching back as far as the Iron Age. This includes the remains of two medieval manors, whose earthworks can still be seen today. In addition a medieval Tithe Barn still stands in the village.

The tour will look at all these sites, as well as the rest of the historic village.

There is a wealth of archaeology throughout the County Farms Estate which runs to more 30,000 acres, and the Landbeach walk is just one of a series of guided tours of important ancient monuments in Cambridgeshire.

The Landbeach walk will commence from the Granary, at Worts Barn, in the High Street. For details of any of the guided walks contact Stephen Macaulay on (01223) 850500.
