Once again we appear to have young men in the village in orange jackets intent on getting you to switch to a different power supplier. Claiming to be from Scottish Power who “are responsible for supply in your area” (they’re not) they ask to see your bill as they have been getting reports of “people being on the wrong tariff”.

Don’t let them near your bills or your meters or you may find you have been switched to a different supplier without your consent. If you can find the time it’s also worth reporting this to your real power supplier(s) as some of them are now logging these incidents, presumably to report back to the watchdog.
