New Park and Ride Site

The new Milton P&R was officially opened on Thursday this week and it opens for business this Sunday (16/11) at 9am. Services to and from the new Milton site will depart every 15 minutes on Sunday and 10 minutes on all other days, stopping at the Science Park, The Grafton and Drummer Street. Like all park and ride bus services it will cost £2.20 return.

This is also good news for Milton bus users. You may remember that at one time one could take the Citi 2 service as far as the Golden Hind, hop off and hop on the next P&R bus. This was generally quicker into town and a lot quicker if you were bound for Addenbrooke’s. This became impossible to do when they decided that the P&R bus wouldn’t stop at the Golden Hind.

Anyway the plan for the new Milton P&R bus southbound is that it will stop just inside the Science Park until 9:30am, and then on the east side of Milton Road near the Cowley Road junction. Northbound it will stop in Milton Road near the Science Park entrance.

As the Milton Road stops are also Citi 2 stops that means that after 9:30am you will once again be able to do the switch to the P&R bus, just one stop further north that before and as your Dayrider ticket is valid on the P&R bus it won’t cost any more than using a Dayrider on the Citi 2.
