Our old friend the Cathedrals Express is back this Sunday (31/8) hauled by a train we’ve not seen coming through Milton before: LMS Coronation Class 4-6-2 46233 Duchess of Sutherland. Full timing are available online but by my reckoning you want to be at the level crossing at Fen Road at about 12:30 if you want to see it steaming north and again at 19:25 to see it heading south.

From previous experience these times should be treated with caution and it may well be delayed but if it does come through a steam hauled train is always a glorious thing to see and there’s usually a few villagers scattered about at vantage points along the line.
