Sewage Works Move Dropped

In a move that will come to little surprise to you after my previous mention of this possibility the County Council has
announced that the Cambridge Waste Water Treatment Works is not to move to Honey Hill. However with great timing, given our recent problems with the works, they say they are “keen to see the existing facilities improved ready for future housing growth, including environmental measures to reduce any smells and nuisance”.

Cllr Matt Bradney, Lead Member for Planning and Regional Matters, is quoted in the press release as saying:

We listened very closely to the concerns of the communities who did not want to see this facility moved. Councils are often criticised for not listening and I hope this shows that we do take the community’s views on board.

… just not our community it seems.
