All people who look after another person's child, who are not a close relative, for more than two hours in any one day, must be registered with Ofsted. This involves practical training, first aid and a CRB check. There are 12 registered child minders in Milton at present. Most of them know each other, and meet regularly either at each others homes, Toddlers, or school times. The group also has meetings throughout the year at which we discuss ideas, outings, problems etc.

New members (and helpers) welcome – whether you’ve been involved with Guiding before or not! We run a Guide unit for girls aged 10 - 14 on Monday evenings. The girls get to take part in a range of interesting and challenging activities including crafts, cooking, camping – from a programme they help to design. They work together in patrols, to learn teamwork and make new friends. Guides offers girls the opportunity to join in with weekend and holiday activities including a Guides only pop concert (the Big Gig), water-sports weekends, hikes and sleepovers. There are opportunities to work towards awards including the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and sometimes to join groups on international trips. Older girls can move to Seniors, and/or remain in Guiding as young leaders. Extra adult leaders are very welcome, either as regular helpers or more occasionally to help with specific events. No experience is necessary as training can be provided.

We are a charity-run pre-school based at the primary school site in Humphries Way and have been established for over 20 years. We aim to provide a friendly and secure environment in which all children can learn, thrive and develop friendships through play. We want all our children to be happy and fulfil their potential. We also offer children and their parents and carers a setting which promotes equality and values diversity.
Most of our youth activities are free of charge except for trips where admission/food costs are applicable.
