Fortnightly on Wednesdays, 6-7:30pm

The focus of this group is to provide a supportive environment for Young Carers to come together, have some time out from their caring responsibilities, try new activities, feel supported and meet new people. The group is sufficiently staffed to give young people the opportunity to have 1-to-1 time during group if they are having a difficult time or want to talk to an adult. Each session runs for 2 hours and activities include cooking, arts and crafts, sports and games.

All people who look after another person’s child, who are not a close relative, for more than two hours in any one day, must be registered with Ofsted. This involves practical training, first aid and a CRB check. There are 12 registered child minders in Milton at present. Most of them know each other, and meet regularly either at each others homes, Toddlers, or school times. The group also has meetings throughout the year at which we discuss ideas, outings, problems etc.
