As you’ll know if you read Cambridge News on Saturday (their headline “Bins pong verily on high …” deserves a small prize) there’s a bit a fuss over SCDC’s collection arrangements over the Christmas season. Essentially our black bin, which was last emptied last Tuesday will not be emptied again until 2nd January 2008 i.e. three weeks one day later.

This at the very time when we’re probably generating more waste than any other time of year. And to add to the “fun” SCDC are explicitly saying that they won’t collect bags of rubbish left beside wheeled bins.

Similarly the green bin, which is being emptied tomorrow (Tuesday, 18th December) will not be emptied again until 15th January i.e. four weeks later. So don’t put anything that’s likely to smell in your green bin after today.

25/12/2007 : No Collection.
02/01/2008 : Green Box And Black Bin (Day late collection).
08/01/2008 : Black Bin.
