Young residents can spring into action this Easter and hone their sporting skills in the holidays with a programme of activities lined up by South Cambridgeshire District Council. These are a great way to stay active whilst having fun, learning new skills and making friends.
A junior and youth netball camp, for 7 to 15 year olds, will offer participants the opportunity to benefit from training with England Netball qualified coaches before putting their skills into practice in game play. The session will take place on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th April, from 10am to 3:30pm, at Impington Sports Centre.
A junior and youth athletics camp, also for 7 to 15 year olds, will offer participants of all abilities the chance to receive training in sprinting, jumping, throwing and endurance running by England Athletics qualified coaches and an opportunity to participate in a fun competition. The session will run on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th April, from 10am to 3:30pm, at Wilberforce Road Athletics Track in Cambridge.
Each session is open to boys and girls and will cost just £18 per child for the day (£30 for two siblings), £30 for two days, £40 for 3 days or £50 for all four days.
Participants are asked to wear suitable footwear and clothing, and bring a packed lunch and drink.
South Cambridgeshire District Council’s cabinet member for new communities, Cllr Mick Martin, said:
Our holiday camps are proving increasingly popular year on year. They aim to enthuse and engage our younger residents, encouraging participation in sport and driving home the importance of keeping fit and living a healthy lifestyle.
