People not yet registered to vote in the European Parliament and District Council elections later this month only have a few days left to get their name on the electoral register.
The deadline for registering is this Tuesday (6/5), with anyone not registered in time missing out on having their say at the ballot box.
The quickest way to register is by visiting the Electoral Commission’s website, www.aboutmyvote.co.uk, where a form can be printed off and sent back to South Cambridgeshire District Council.
With time running out residents are also being reminded they can print, complete, sign and scan the form before returning it by email to elections@scambs.gov.uk
Residents will head to the polls on Thursday, 22nd May with a third of the seats on the District Council – 19 in total – up for election, including one of the two seats in Milton.
Postal and proxy applications can also be printed from the Electoral Commission’s website, or by calling the District Council’s elections team on 03450 455 214. Postal vote applications must be received before 5pm on Wednesday, 7th May, and proxy applications before 5pm on 14th May.
Jean Hunter, South Cambridgeshire District Council chief executive, said:
