Last week in Milton Country Park a horse rider attempted to ride their horse over the wooden planked bridges which separate Dickerson’s Pit and Deep Pool and the bridge wasn’t able to take that weight so some of the planks gave way.
Luckily the horse wasn’t hurt and the rider wasn’t thrown and managed to dismount and lead their horse over the bridges but it did leave damage to the bridge which cost the Park to repair.
There are designated horse routes through the Park. Over these bridges is not on those routes. So if you are a rider or know any riders who are considering riding in the Park do be sure you’re aware of where is safe to ride, both for you and your horse and also to prevent further damage to the Park infrastructure.
