You will be aware that many public sector unions have called on their members to strike on Wednesday in protest against the Government changes to pensions but Milton surgery would like to let you know that they will be open to look after patients as usual on Wednesday.
You may be affected in other ways however. For example the East of England Ambulance Service is expecting some disruption to routine services (but not 999 services) so if you are are expecting hospital transport to get you to appointments is may be sensible to try and make other arrangements if possible.
County Council services will be hit with the main impact being schools with many schools closed either fully or partially and a number of libraries and archive services may be closed or operating on reduced opening hours.
There are also two marches going on in Cambridge, one starting from Shire Hall, the other from Addenbrooke’s, converging on Parkers Piece just before noon before marching around the city centre at about 1pm so that may cause some disruption as road closures may be needed.
