It will seem grimly ironic for most villagers but the County Council is embarking on another consultation on bus services. Their cabinet has agreed that a review of last year’s budget decision to cut the £2.7 million that is currently spent on subsidising bus journeys in Cambridgeshire over the next four years should now take place.
You will remember that this budget cut by the the county is the one which has already lost us our subsidised services and the press release notes that:
The Council is also looking back at the routes that have already been cut, gathering feedback on how this has impacted communities in these areas.
So it could be worthwhile for you to make a contribution …
You can find lots more information, including how to respond, in the press release.
