Traffic News via Twitter

The County Council’s Traffic Manager’s Team continuously monitors routes in the county using information provided by traffic signals, real time bus information, CCTV and road works data – they also work closely with other agencies such as the police and the Highways Agency and share information. They are now using this information to provide traffic information via Twitter.

For example the last four tweets are the time of writing were:

A14, J37-J36 near Newmarket, has re-opened Westbound. One lane still closed after an earlier lorry fire. Delays likely
CLEARED – A14 Eastbound, J34 Fen Ditton to J37 near Newmarket. Earlier delays due to a lorry fire have now cleared
CLEARED – A11 between A14 J36 and A1304, re-opened after earlier closure due to due to lorry fire on the A14
UPDATE – A14, J37 Eastbound side has now re-opened. Queueing traffic back to J34 Fen Ditton
