The County Council has provisionally decided to axe the £3,000,000 subsidy to bus services in the county which was previously set to be applied over the next four years. This will affect 57 routes including the 9/X9 service from Cambridge through Milton to Ely and points beyond. How much of an impact it will have isn’t clear: some buses on that route are usually full and hence are presumably profitable but it may reduce services outside busy times e.g. on Sundays.
