We previous reported that with effect from Sunday, 14th February Stagecoach is reducing the service 9 which goes through Milton on its way from Cambridge to Ely and Littleport and vice versa to the point where it’s of little use to villagers and we noted that the only way to get to Ely now would be to catch an X9 which we said would mean going to the Science Park.

However our county councillor, Michael Williamson, reports in his blog that it’s not as bad as we feared: the X9 service will now stop in Milton, thus providing an hourly service to Ely. The timetable only notes it stopping at the Waggon and Horses but that is the “fare stage” so it’s possible it may stop elsewhere in the village but we’ve not being able to confirm that yet.
