Milton allotments’ Foodshare scheme had a record month in August and has now donated over 150kg of food worth over £450 in supermarket prices. If every allotment in the UK were to follow Milton’s example, over £25m of food would donated to charity each year.

The scheme was filmed by the BBC for “Look East” on Thursday afternoon and thanks to everyone who donated they had a loads of fresh produce to deliver when they were filming. The finished piece was shown across the day on Friday on BBC1.
