Carbon Conversations

Tom Breeze of Old School Lane is running a ‘Carbon Conversations’ group starting in September. The group is an opportunity to meet with other people in the Milton area and collectively explore ways to reduce your personal contribution to climate change. There are 6 sessions in total, each focusing on a different area:

  • introductory session
  • home energy
  • transport and travel
  • food and water
  • consumption and waste
  • follow-up session

The meetings themselves will be structured around excellent materials, full of insights and ideas. The materials have been developed over the past five years by another local group Cambridge Carbon Footprint. There are also some fun games and other resources available for use such as energy meters. Everyone is encouraged to share useful local information and any other ideas they may have (e.g. local food producers, lift sharing). The aim is for everyone to make a measurable reduction to their carbon footprint, as part of a small friendly group.

In order to cover expenses for printed materials, the group costs £15 to attend. The first meeting is on Tuesday 22nd September at 7.30pm at the
Milton Community Centre, meeting fortnightly thereafter. Please contact Tom Breeze or Kate Blackwell if you are interested in taking part.
